Guest guest
Request on Eliot's " The Wasteland " Erica, if you will find the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, and read V.2.l-3, you will find the passage about giving, having compassion, and practicing self-control, which Eliot refers to at the end of his poem. Eliot studied Sanskrit, and read in Hinduism. The poem concludes with the Vedic benediction, Santih, Santih, Santih (Peace), also Sanskrit. There is much more in his poem " The Four Quartets " . ------ Swami Yogeshananda Vedanta Center of Atlanta 2331 Brockett Road Tucker, GA 30084 Ph: 770-983-6673 yogeshananda http://www.vedanta-atlanta.org/ -----
