Guest guest
I am translating this article from Hindi to English. There is a chance that i might not be putting forward the exact mentality of the writer due to lack or words and my grasp of language and in translating the article. --------- Yesterday i read one of the article about " Shabda or Word " . And it said that rishis have said that " Shabda is Brahma " . There ia one of the incidents from the life of Swami Vivekananda. Swami Vivekanada was amazed to see how people used to gather up to listen to Shri Ram Krishna Paramhansa inspite of him being an illterate. He tried to find the reason behind this ability of Shree Ramakrishna Paramhansa and after he became someone he said " I have understood that the miracle is not in his words but in his speech. Whatever Thakur used to say in it his divine energy used to play a role and only due to this his words used to touch people. " Word is Brahma this is true but who is saying those words is even more important. Mantras are made only out of words and every word that we utter is something like Mantra. Or in other words whatever is the effect of mantras same is the effect of every word that we utter. That's why we should be very careful in using words. Indian Science and Knowledge inspite of its greatness was never considered as authentic and this was due to the reason that Indian Society didn't learn how to walk along with time. The whole society was lost in memorising the sacred books and it didn't put efforts to define that knowledge according to the present time. Todays scientists in western world are busy doing reaserch on " Om " and " Mantra " and at the same time there are these old tradionist people who are busy memorising the 5 centuries old definitions. That which is old undoubtfully has importance but only to the extent of giving us just one of the lines of thought and perception. Our Rishi Munis are indeed all respectful to us. It's their blood which is running in our veins. It's only due to their energy and inspiration flowing within us that the life which is being nurtured in us hasn't become as feelingless and emotionless as in the west. Even after 1000 shortcomings we still have a place for emotions and feelings. But this doesn't mean that we keep on following the old traditions without proper reasoning. Our rishis have never wished that we follow such a line of thought and action. Pujya Gurudev once said everything in this world dies. But the words that have been uttered remain for ever in the universe. If the Saadhak develops his capacity and energy to gain and understand then he can listen to the very Gitaa recited by Lord Shri Krishna himself in it's full originality. When disciple first approaches Guru. Guru asks him to learn how to remain in silence. Through the practise of silence Guru teaches disciple which words are useful to him and which are not useful to him out of what all words he knows. And which doesn't allow the divine energy to flow in an open and balanced way. When the speech of disciple becomes calm due to this churning of psyche its then that the Guru teaches disciple the " Guru Mantra " . If we recite " OM " with a peaceful mind even if for a short time then our body gets filled with a strentghful energy and peace. Tongue is not the place of words but Manipura Chakra is the place of words. Tongue is only a link in production of words or one can say that only those words are affective which arise from Manipur Chakra and pass through Anahata and Vishuddha Chakraas to be finally vibrated through tongue. Rest all other words are not effective thats why its again and again stressed in Shaastraas that either remain silent or speak very less. The energy which gets depleted in speaking, for the the fulfillment of this energy kundalini Chakraas have to put a lot of effort. To speak more (Talkative) is one of the biggest hurdles on the path of Kundalini Awakening. There is one of the incidents from the Life of Gandhiji. One person came to Sabarmati Ashrama with his son and said " Your words have power and whole country obeys your words. This child eats lot of Sugar cane sugar (Gurda), can you suggest him not to take Gurda " . Bapu listened to every word, looked at child and said " Come after one week " .After one week that person again came to Bapuji along with his son. Gandhiji caressing childs head said : " Son! don't take sugarcane sugar " Child said : " From today onwards i won't eat Gurda " . Child's father was very much surprised and said you could have said the same words a wek back. At that gandhiji said : " I myself was in a habit of taking Gurda after food and this full week follwing the disciple of not taking Gurda i experienced that it creates no difference to me if i take Gurda or not. Today i possess the authority of asking this child not to take Gurda. " The incident inspite of being a simple is a very serious one. It means that only that speech matters which comes from inside because that speech contains his own mental impression, knowledge and experience. Even today while performing the ritual of " Shodasha Sanskaar " ( Sixteen Sanskaars) we write " OM " on the tongue of child while giving him " Gyaan Dikshaa " ( Imparting energy to child so that he may become knowledgable). The mentality behind this is that this tongue will express the effect the Kundalini and in its own right be a speech of strength and effectiveness. A beggar shouts for hours to get some alms whereas when Lord Buddha taking the guise of Beggar stands at anyones doors at that time that person feels blessed and is ready to offer what all he has. Where there is knowledge there wealth and fearlessness all will follow. Thats why Chanaakya has said in its " Neeti Shataka " if it so happens that i loose everything but still i won't stagger in life but there is only one prayer to lord that my knowledge and tongue remain all powerful and untouched. If these two remain with me i can win this world thousand times what to talk about of winning it once. Mantraas are the true and real image of words, Mantra which are complete in rythym and the rythym which is produced from inner mind and with it ones Glow, Bliss and Energy becomes manifested. When such a thing happens then alone the reality and soul of words gets manifested. None of the aspects of consciousness stand before the feelings of Bliss. Bliss gets manifested in the life that person's life, the one who has high ideals and the one who is confident that in every high act of his he is being helped by the divine. Bliss is the internal state of a Saadhak which can be achieved in life but for it the thought which is more important than Mantra Japaa is this that the Saadhak cultivate his whole mentality in a way that he has to become a Blissful person and whatsoever may happen irrespective of it he has to become a Blissful person. Such should be his mentality and will. -------- Article Ends Here --------- --------- I observed that all the Bija Varnaas ( Alphabets of Devanagri Script ) are linked with the Major Chakraas of Kundalini. I guess when we recite the Bijaa Varnaas then the respective Naadis and Chakraas get Energised. And that generates a feeling and emotion in us. Thats how the words get their meaning. Meaning of the word is something which comes from inside. One can't assign the meaning of " Good " to " Bad " and vice-versa. If we look the way " Good " and " Bad " words are pronounced then we can observe that " Good " has a upward thurst in it whereas " Bad " has a downward thurst in it. That's why " good " gives a +ve effect and " bad " gives a negative effect. That's why we should always think positive and speak positive. Because our speech and thoughts effect our internal divine energy. The one who is divine his speech will contain the words that speak out Brahma and Bliss. He can never use bad words. Many a times people don't know the language but if they recite the Shalokaas with Shraddha and devotion then the meaning of the Shalokaa pops out. It's because those words are compatible to our kundalini and inner energy. And when recited without any pre-conceieved notions then for sure the true meaning will pop out. Children are pure when young i think thats why they are able to grasp language that fast. Thinking about the words makes me feel that a great Divine personality himself would have created the Divine Language and the words which it has. The intellect of a Human Being can't fathom the depth of divinity which is inherent in the word. Once a yogi told me that any sound can be written in to Devanagri Script. At that time i wasn't able to get to the root of it. But now it seems he was very true in saying this. Because all the Albhabets of Devnagri Script are linked with Kundalini and Kundalini is something which is behind the production of all words.
