Guest guest
Hi! Anurag, Hey why r u so worried about what this world thinks and what it doesn't. U first worry about urself. Ask urself that r u free?? Have u realised ur 'Self' If u have then it is it is ok to go about with all the research and stuff. But if u havent then first seek ur 'Self' then think of this world and superstitions this world is into. Really speaking from a non-dualistic point of view. This whole world is nothing but a projection of UR own mind. Really speaking there is nobody to help in this world except ur self. This concept of world is created in ur own mind... So dont live under the illusion that u have a responsibility to remove the superstition this world lives in. The greatest help u can give is to know ur 'Self' and to 'Be'. That is the greatest thing u can do to help us all... Time is too short.. U never know how long u r gonna be out here in this world And to come back to the point. Mantra/Japa/Meditation are tried and tested tools to help u reach ur goal ('Self'). After u know ur 'Self' even the greatest books/researches/articles/quotes will seem worthless.... Hope u r gettin my point... Neways.. Love at His Feet, Kedar.S. >Dear Kedar, > Knowledge is divine. Guest guest
What you say is very true, that time is very short. I have 2 general doubts : Once a person has realised his Self, will he have interest in the worldly 'stuff' ? Or would he like only to enjoy the Bliss? Again, if he decides to come into the world, should he have any fear of falling from his exalted state, due to his activities in the world? Could anyone pls advise me what the Scriptures tell about this. regards, Hari > ---------- > kedars[sMTP:kedars] > Reply Ramakrishna > Saturday, June 03, 2000 9:24 PM > Ramakrishna > Re: [ramakrishna] Digest Number 458 > > > Hi! Guest guest
A fall from exalted state occurs only when one becomes attached. One can very well operate in this universe without becoming attached. There is no such condition in this universe that one has to be attached before one can operate in this universe. Realization of Self simply means that one is not confusing oneself with any identity supplied by this universe. One realizes that one is formless, and does not require an identity to operate in this universe. Realization of the individual self is just the beginning. There is still a lot more to be realized. There is not just the individual self. There is also the "self" of the family, the "self" of the group, the "self" of the nation, the "self" of the mankind, the "self" of all life forms, the "self" of this physical universe, the "self" of the spiritual universe, and so on up to the infinite self. You may realize the individual "self" but you cannot realize the infinite self until everyone else is also well on their way to realize it too. The realization of the individual "self" is just the beginning. The work then becomes helping others realize their "self." I do not think that any of the above reasoning contradicts anything in the scriptures. - Harihara_K 'Ramakrishna ' Sunday, June 04, 2000 5:21 AM RE: [ramakrishna] Digest Number 458 What you say is very true, that time is very short. Guest guest
Hari there is one quote by Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa. Which says that this world is like stage and the enlightened plays a role in the drama and at the same time the enlightened one knows that one doesn't belong to this world. I think after one gets enlightened, what enlightened one will do is to play his part in all agileness and fun may it be any role of wandering monk, teacher, warrior monk etc. Mind of a ordinary human being is like a small random particle. But that of enlightened one is like Himalayas. Enlightened one stands grounded in ones soul. Enlightened one is beyond the thought of fear and fearless. He incarnates in the world for a reason and once done leaves. He is always aware of what he has to do so there is nothing that perturbs him for he knows his real nature and his aim. By practising spiritual disciples and the practise of 'not this' 'not this' we evolve out mind which is like a seed in to a huge tree. Come watever may then it never falls for then he knows who he is. When one knows the answer to the question WHO AM I in full and in its originality ( meaning both the question and answer should come from within ) then there will be nothin in this world that can perturb one. Also a quote by spiritual teacher who said that this world is like a cinema where one goes by buying a ticket but one knows that one is there only for one show. love, Anurag On Sun, 4 Jun 2000, Harihara_K wrote: > What you say is very true, that time is very short. > > I have 2 general doubts : Once a person has realised his Self, will he have > interest in the worldly 'stuff' ?
