Guest guest
Education and Knowledge " Is education necessarily evil? " It is a good fortune to be born in a Church, but tragic to die in it. Education is like taking birth in a Church, while knowledge is to leave the Church before education fossilizes you. * The tiny sapling requires to be hedged till it grows. But then the hedge must give way for its further growth into a tree. Education should be like the hedge, flexible and ready to recede into background as soon as the sapling attains a certain level of growth. The function of the education is to protect the tiny plant from herbivorous animals. As soon as this function is over one can even tie an elephant to the grown up tree! * Experience is the only source of knowledge. Education should be the process to channel these experiences into a useful order to reach the higher rung of ladder. It should be the process of manifestation of (or realization of or the expression of) the perfection already present in each person. If and till education performs these functions its necessity can't be ignored. Education in itself is not evil, but its restriction as a tool to provide succor to senses alone (bodily and mental comforts and glorification) is bad. That education which leads the person to realize the necessity of higher or spiritual aim in life and thereby accept discrimination and renunciation as necessary aspects in life is good education. c s shah -- ==================== For e-Zine on Vedanta and Science: Do Visit: http://www.geocities.com/neovedanta =========
