FOUR GREAT VEDIC MAHAVAKYAS.

1. PRAGNANAM BRAHMA RIG VEDAM

(Consciousness is Brahman) AITREYA UPANISHAD 3 ; 3.

 

2. AHAM BRAHMASMI YAJUR VEDAM

(I am Brahman) BRIHADARANYA UPANISHAD 14 ; 10.

 

 

3. TAT TWAM ASI SAMA VEDAM

(That thou Art ) CHANDOGYA UPANISHAD 6 ; 14 ; 3.

 

 

4. AYAMATMA BRAHMA ATHARVANA VEDAM

(This consciousness - in MANDUKYOPANISHAD 1 ; 2.

- me the self, is Brahman )

 

This was given to me by my father late Shri.L T Govindarajan who was

associated with Ramakrishna Mission since 1937 in Rangoon, Madras and

Belur math. He asked me to remember daily, above Mahavakyas after

worshipping Sri Ramakrishna.
