Guest guest
I wish to respond to a post questioning Anurag's contributions to the list. One of the messages that Thakurji gave us by living this mortal life is the universality and applicability of all paths. Once when someone asked Thakurji on the number of paths to reach god, he replied " as many people so many paths... " Again to cite Thakurji's simile : " We must be the swan that separates milk from water from whatever is given to us " My suggestion is that instead of questioning the source, we should question the message on its merit and assimilate whatever we see as useful in our sadhanas best regards Sreedhar > Message: 3 > Sun, 15 Oct 2000 11:50:11 EDT > jaguarxox > Re: Gayatri Mantra > > Who is Pujya Guru? > What authority does he have? > Isn't this a list for Sri Ramakrishna? > Let's not dilute what is already a complete teaching of the greatest > Avatar..... >
Guest guest
Hi Avatar, Pujya Gurudev is my Spiritual Teacher. I or generalyy every disciple call their spiritual teacher as Pujya Gurudev showing their love and respect. I guess an enlightened one doesn't have to establish or prove its authority. Their own life is a certification of that. I think its not wise to distinguish between different spiritual legends. They all are but one. Doing the same work, the same goal. But depending on place, time and region the paths, and works are different. Your questions are not specific. You want to say something but you are not saying it clearly. If you have any doubt you can ask it clearly i will try to answer and explain myself. It can be that i can be wrong in whatever i am saying and interpreting. love, Anurag > > Message: 3 > Sun, 15 Oct 2000 11:50:11 EDT > jaguarxox > Re: Gayatri Mantra > > Who is Pujya Guru? > What authority does he have? > Isn't this a list for Sri Ramakrishna? > Let's not dilute what is already a complete teaching of the greatest > Avatar..... >
Guest guest
In response to the message below: The greatest contibution Thakur taught us is respect the others - religions, and methods. To me this list brings together people who love spirituality - yes under the banner of Sri Ramakrishna - who I believe is the catalyst that refreshed Hinduism for the modern era. One very important message (from many swamis) I learnt visiting the Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre, is to take and learn what you think is good from other spirtual people - and from the Holy Mother, - Find fault within yourself rather than finding fault in others. Everybody has something to contribute - and we can learn from others. Did not Shri Ramakrisha learn from the many gurus? The key message about satsangs - is for people to come together and talk about God, and this is " electronic " satsang we are having.
