Guest guest
Dear Maria i think it is wonderful that you are so much into reciting Sanskrit shlokas...there are the VIshnu Sahasrnamam and the Shiva Sahasranamam and the Lalita Sahasranamam. The Thousand names of Lord Vishnu,Shiva and the DIvine Mother respectively...they are very powerful as well These shlokas, for me, allow me to spend time in the presence of GOD...the more time spent i suppose the more of bhakti there is... and i could always do with more Bhakti... i thought your rendering of the meeting of Hanuman with Seeta Devi was really wonderful...it seemed a spontaneous outpouring...That part of the Ramayana for me is the most wonderful piece of writing in the annals of all literature an aside... a long time ago when i was in England i used to listen to a evangelist by the name of Frank Topping...who talked once about Arrow prayers... these are prayers that shoot forth from the heart whenever there is any reminder of God for you in your daily chores...and he encouraged everyone to have as many reminders of God as possible..the number 3 would remind him of the Trinity, a + sign anywhere would remind him of the Cross...et.c That was long ago and i suppose i have had it subconsciously in my mind ... whenever i see a car with registration letters VKA VKN RKA RKV SRD... they remind me of the Trinity in my life... VKA...Vivekananda VKN...Vivekananda RKA ...Ramakrishna RKV ...Ramakrishna-Vivekananda or VKR SRD...Sarada Devi... all and so much more ...constitute Arrow prayers for me... also i do get reminded of more ... VNK...Vinayaka VKT...Venkateshwara SVA,...Shiva RMA...Rama... Nowadays i have started converting some jingles that i have grown up with into more meaningful tunes for me personally... for eg,the Beatles song.,.. ALL WE ARE SAYING IS GIVE PEACE A CHANCE...( i am sure all know the tune to that song) well how about... ALL WE ARE SAYING... IS RAMAKRISHNA OR VIVEKANANDA!!!!!!!!!! so much for Arrow prayers and Sanskrit shlokas... with regards and pranaams jairam > " Maria S Jewison " <maria_jewison >Ramakrishna >Ramakrishna >Re: [ramakrishna] Regarding Sanskrit >Sat, 21 Oct 2000 15:46:50 -0700 > > >thank you VIshal...i was aware of Hanuman Chalisa, but not the Saraswathi >Chalisa.
