Guest guest
Dear Jay, Mysore Maharajah was keen in preserving the heavenly voice of Swamiji and it was said that one old fashioned wax record was made and it was kept there in the Mysore Palace for a long time. But that recording has been damaged beyond repair and no sound is produced from it. Some believe that there was another attempt at Belgaum to record Swamiji's nectar-like voice when He was staying there before He went to America. But it is still not traceable even to this day. Recently, some enthusiastic and sincere devotees from Kerala circulated an audio cassette thinking that it was a reproduction of Swamiji's own speeches delivered in 1893 at the historical Parliament of Religions in Chicago. After hearing the cassette, many of the monks and devotees of the Ramakrishna Order believe that it should be a recorded version of some drama played many years back in some part of India on Swami Vivekananda; not the original voice of the great Sawamiji. So, we do not have any authentic audio records available, whereby we can listen to that divine voice. It is a sad thing for us. Best Regards P. S.
