Guest guest
Suddenly i remembered a incident from todays divine gathering. All the people there lighted a candle. And Sri Sri Sri Ravishankar explained it as one of the Yagyas. He said that this is mentioned in Vedas or shaastraas as " Jyotikaastak Yagya " i don't know if i am remembering the correct word. It was soul lifting to see the beauty of candle lit place. Everyone having candles in their hands. Fire plays a imp. role in Yagya. Once i was thinking abt yagya and it occured to me that fire is something very imp. Just now it occured to me ppl light candles in Church too before saying their prayers. I guess the significance of Yagya applies there too. Then someone from audience asked thaton birthdays after lighting the candles we blow them out. He said that we should never do that. He said that the tradition of blowing out the candles is followed in . And at least we in India shouldn't be doing so. if i think in terms of Yagya then blowing of candles is like blowing out the fire of Yagya which means that we are driving the fire god away with all rudeness. luv, Anurag
