Guest guest
Jeff Kripal gave a talk(which I attended) at SOAS last yr about his book...although I do not agree with his conclusions & believe he has misunderstood much of what he has 'uncovered', I do believe his intention was not to anger ,insult or shock devotees of the great Ramakrishna.I believe Kripal himself feels some anguish over his inability to completely surrender to God when he was training for priesthood & that this has filtered down into his work, perhaps as an unconscious jealousy...Furthermore I do not think most of the academic approaches to Ramakrishna will be of any credible use to modern devotees since they are extremely abstract or insulting. I find N.P. Sil's condemnation of Ramakrishna far more offensive than anything Kripal has written, afterall Kripal is an innocent in all of this.Sil appears to be calculating in his actions and his motives seem to be quite dubious. > " Vivekananda Centre " <vivekananda >Ramakrishna > " list " <Ramakrishna > >[ramakrishna] Kali's child >Tue, 2 Jan 2001 12:31:49 -0000 > >Following recd on the internet...... > > >3. Guest guest
Kali's child is a worthless book, unfortunately it consumed Swamy's valuble time in analysing the garbage! I can feel how much pain Swami Tyagananda must have undergone to read such a book called Kali's child (alias: Grabage dwellers timepass manual). I was just thinking about Rahul Samkrutyayan. Anybody knew how this scholar who is very critical about vedas saw his end? Has anybody researched about peoples lives who write/become critical about holybooks/holymen and religions? I am perticularly interested in finding out how they faced their death. No jokes. It would be an interesting revelation. Find out how they are punished in time. Also find out the reference from " Garuda Purana " about the punishments for such crimes. God rules this universe in the name of Time. And Time has many things in store for such people. Meanwhile, what good people should do! They have to just hold on to their faith, for faith will lead them to their true destination. My heartfelt praising to Swamy Tyaganandaji. Swamyji: THANK YOU!
