Guest guest
Let me share my personal experience with you. I have been doing a series of talks on Hinduism at Brent Town Hall in London. The talks are meant to be an introduction to Hinduism. The questions and answers that follow show up the real concerns of the audience. Today the questions were on the role of miracles. (and Sai baba) I had to clarify that I come from a tradition that does not wish to disturb the faith of any group of people (however crude or uneducated I feel their pathway may be). But then I also come from the Vivekananda tradition and so I have to state quite clearly - that if anyone asks you to suspend your rational faculty for the sake of religion - then discard that person or that pathway as once you sacrifice your rationality your backbone is broken; you turn into a jellyfish - what good is your God then? Even if you stand in front of him you will only shudder like a jellyfish - a mere zombie, you will not be able to make sense of your God either! The question and answer session created a bit of a stir.... I do not know if I have done right in being so outspoken - but I rely on the 'old man' to guide me at all such meetings. hari.. hari.....I hope I have not done any unwanted damage... jay
