All Power is within YOU - 12th Jan - Vivekananda Jayanti

Namaste Friends,

"ALL POWER IS WITHIN YOU, you can do anything and everything.

Believe in that, do not believe that you are weak... You can do anything andeverything, without even the guidance of any one. All power is there. Standup and express the divinity within you... Arise, Awake, Sleep no more.Within each one of you there is the power to remove all wants and allmiseries. Believe in this, and that power will be manifested..."- Swami Vivekananda

Who was this amazing Being, who in his short life span of 39 years, achieved so much and is still a continuous inspiration to the world today??? His name is remembered as SWAMI VIVEKANANDA - the most famous modern Indian Spiritual teacher who did great work both in the East & West...

young Naren was born on 12th January 1863 and later grew to be the giant personality that shook the world...

below are a few quotations by great spiritual thinkers, leaders and personalities, about how Vivekananda affected them. there are also some very interesting web-links with short biographies, quotations, and the Times of India Poll showing him as the greatest Spiritual Light of the Century.

with Vivekananda as an Ideal; no challenge or problematic situation is ever too great - just reading a page or recalling a life-incident of his, gives us the inner strength to succeed!

love,

milen....

SWAMI VIVEKANANDA (12th Jan 1863 - July 4th 1902)

"I cannot touch sayings of his, scattered as they are through the pages of books, without receiving a thrill through my body like an electric shock. And what shocks, what transports must have been produced when in burning words they issued from the lips of the hero!"

- Romain Rolland

"Vivekananda did the best that he could think of, in order to lift the society from the swamps of selfishness and immorality into which it had fallen and to reintegrate it. Only such Mahatmas can really integrate the country..."

- Swami Chinmayananda

"I have gone through his works very thoroughly, and after having gone through them, the love that I have for my country became a thousand fold..."

- Mahatma Gandhi

"The going forth of Vivekananda, marked out by The Master as the heroic soul destined to take the world between his two hands and change it, was the first visible sign to the world that India was awake, not only to survive but to conquer..."

- Sri Aurobindo

"Directly or indirectly, he has powerfully influenced the India of today. And I think that our younger generation will take advantage of this fountain of wisdom, of spirit and fire, that flows from Swami Vivekananda..."

- Jawaharlal Nehru

"Swami Vivekananda saved Hinduism and saved India. But for him we would have lost our religion and would not have gained freedom. We, therefore, owe everything to him..."

- C Rajagopalachari

"If you want to know India, study Vivekananda. In him everything is positive and nothing is negative..."

- Rabrindranath Tagore

"Swamiji harmonised East & West, religion & science, past & present. And that is why he is great. Our countrymen have gained unprecedented self-respect, self-confidence and self-assertion from his teachings."

- Subash Chandra Bose
