Song of the Ever free

Avadhuta Gita

(Brahman is the word used to describe the underlying principle

of the cosmos that defies all classification and yet is called as God

in many religions)

Chapter 8 Verse 1

O Brahman, by going on pilgrimage to seek you,

I have denied your omnipresence;

By meditating on you,

I have given you form in my mind

and thus denied your formless nature;

By singing hymns, I have described you and thus denied

your indescribable nature.

Forgive me for these three offences.

Commentary:

Here we find the

- height of poetry,

- height of philosophy,

- height of humility in Self Knowledge.
