Guest guest
I guess Meditation means concentration + an urge to find an answer to something. So concentartion is a sub part of meditation. In hindi or sanskrit we may call " Traatak " as one of the methods through which concentration can be improved. You can go through this book " Practical Hypnotism " By Dr. Narayana Dutt Shrimali to get to know abt it in detail. Publisher is Pustak Mahal. You can meditate either on mantra or some pious image. I have generally done it by Mantra way. As such Meditation is a very general term. There are lot of things that go in to how to meditate though. First is to ask urself do i really want to meditate ? n if i want to then am i really doing that with my all heart n soul ? An answer to this will give the thoughts a direction n which is very imp in meditating. if ur mind is not calm then u can just sit in normal sitting posture or lotus position to calm urself. Just try to relax in that posture. N when u feel u r ok with ur mind than start the meditation. Do meditation after a freshing up and having taken bath. Face east or north. Sit on some 1/2 - 1 inch thick cotton cloth or something. Meditate at a quite n clean place. Preferably let the colour of cloth be yellow. U can place a picture of diety/Guru (whosoever appeals to u most) in front of you. U can add the prayers for forgiveness (god to forgive u n u forgiving others) in ur worship. u can go to Vivekananda Yoga Kendra or some other place where you can get more tips n guidance in meditation. Will write more on it soon. luv, Anurag > ______________________ > > Message: 7 > Tue, 10 Apr 2001 03:45:20 -0000 > " Dhandayudhapani Ramalingam " <pani_rd > A query. > > Sir! > How concentration and Meditation are different?. > > How to practice each?. > > with regards > -Dhandayudhapani >
Guest guest
Thank you friends for quick response. Going by your views and my understanding i feel that Concentration is being at your 100% while Meditation is exapnding yourself on a particulat aspect. Is it that?. -Dhandayudhapani ----Original Message Follows---- Anurag Goel <anurag Ramakrishna <Ramakrishna > CC: <pani_rd Re: [ramakrishna] Digest Number 751 Wed, 11 Apr 2001 02:13:48 +0530 (IST) I guess Meditation means concentration + an urge to find an answer to something.
