Guest guest
TO Padam's question 1. Is there a God? Sages have replied and so have Ramakrishna that it is a question of 'experiencing'. Atmanubhooti (self experience) alone can prove you with evidence that there is God. Sages give example of sugar. How do you know it is sweet? Only by eating sugar. No amount of explanation coming from any one can prove or reveal to you that sugar is sweet. You must eat it and 'experience' to be convinced. 2. Where is God? 'Every where' is the answer Sages give us. You can't see God since it permeates everything. Can you see air? NO but you can experience it. SO is God you can't see it. The concept of GOd is hard to understand because it is an abstract concept as are many mathematical concepts. But through practice and understanding (manana and chintana) maths becomes comprehensible and so does GOD. It is very hard to find God and because when you have found it you no longer exist, you become one with it. Ramakrishna gives the example of a salt doll who went to measure the depth of sea. what happend? the salt doll was disolved in the sea. Hence it is very hard well neigh impossible to see God and then say ya I saw it. That is the reason we can't find God or any one who can say he has seen GOd. However this may lead to people loosing faith in the concept it self. Hence Sages like Ramakrishna, even after experiencing GOd decided to stay behind with people like us in this world and tell with confidence that 'Yes " I have seen God " .
