Guest guest
I have recently finished reading Swami Abhedananda's translation of the Kathamrita/Gospel published under the title of " Ramakrishna Kathamrita and Ramakrishna " . The Swami also adds some reminiscences of his own, such as that on p.252 under the heading of 'Meaning of his illness' where he states that he and (the later) Swami Ramakrishnananda were present with Sri Ramakrishna when the Master said " He who was Rama, who was Krishna, Buddha, Christ and Chaitanya, has now become Ramakrishna. Blessed are those who know this truth. " Of course, it is well-known that Ramakrishna revealed himself openly as Chaitanya and also to Vivekananda as having been both Rama and Krishna, but I am not aware of any other reference by Ramakrishna himself, or indeed any other testimony (other than the supposition that certain of his inner circle had been disciples of Christ, which in turn implies something about Ramakrishna himself), that he had also been both Buddha and Christ. Are list members aware of any other references to this in the literature available? God bless, Alan Perry
Guest guest
Hello, I do not know any reference to Buddha. But there is a place where Sri Ramakrishna hints to M that he was Jesus. There are two sisters who have invited Sri Ramakrishna to their house. One of them complains to Sri Ramakrishna that her sister had taken a bigger share of service. M reminds Sri Ramakrishna that there is a similar incident in the life of Christ when He visits Martha and Mary. Sri Ramakrishna says some very puzzling words (I do not remember exactly). Then He asks M what does he understand. M says that Sri Ramakrishna and Christ are the same. Sri Ramakrishna feels happy that M has understood. The above incident is there in the Gospel.
