Guest guest
Hello Milind and Jeremy, and friends, >From Vyavaharic point of view (ways of the world) this multifarious world and thus personal Gods has empirical reality. But from parmarthic point of analysis (the highest stand point of Vedanta) the world vanishes not because one has realized Absolute Consciousness, but because it was never there in the first place! As one realizes the knowledge of rope as rope, snake vanishes! But how can that vanish which was not there in the first place! Thus superimposition of snake was an illusion due to avidya or ignorance. Ignorance or avidya is the inexplicable tendency of the mind to superimpose Self and non-self on one another. Only right knowledge can lead us to Freedom from this avidya. To merge with Brahman in Advaita means to get right knowledge through Intuition of the Self (one without the second) which itself is sufficient to negate the non-self. -- c s shah http://www.neovedanta.org/a36.html http://www.neovedanta.org ----
