Guest guest
There is another passage in the talk by Swami Ashokananda which is very pointed.... it is pointed at those of us who are inclined to talk: 'God' 'advaita' and 'self knowledge' but whose level of experience in the subject matter is nil. Just see how sharp are his comments:-- We therefore say that all these questions which in the West often create turmoil, would be answered if those who talk all the time about whether God exists or doesn't exist, making other people miserable by their arguments -- if they would just withdraw their minds from sense objects just a little, they would have their answer. Buth they will not do so. Their minds are reeking with worldly desires, and they have an itch in their brains. Instead of anything else, they take up this subject of God to discuss. It is just an accident that they find it; it doesn't prove that they are really after the knowledge of God. Personally, when I meet such people I do not feel that they require any special attention, their talk is just a device for themselves..... ================== Strong stuff. " to satisfy an itch in their brain " " eir minds reeking with wordly desires " " these people require no special attention " " their talk is just a device for themselves "
