Guest guest
Can any one solve this problem: When I pray I ask for, say, Nirvasana. But I know all is God's Will and the world goes on as He wishes then how come he will listen to my prayer and grant my wish. So praying or not praying matters little!! Can I have the opinions of the members?
Guest guest
Thank you friends for helping with your views but still i see a paradox. If I pray it is also His wish that I do so and if I ask then by his wish I ask. So in the end what ever I did was his wish. Where did my wish come in. I mean even my thought was his wish. So it ends every thing is his wish none mine. This probably is Saranagati. Ramakrishna, " Arghya " <arghyajyoti> wrote: > Can any one solve this problem: > When I pray I ask for, say, Nirvasana. Namaste dear One!! the question is flawed because of not understanding what " real " prayer is about...if we just prattle onward to the Divine asking for our little " wishes " and " desires " ...we may get them or not, as you say...but IS that why we should pray??? What do we call prayer??? Bhagavan Sri Ramakrsna had a very simple prayer to His Beloved Divine Mother....He knew what was important and what was dross...and He told us thru His Gospel....many times!!! Bhagavan said that He used to pray alone to Divine Mother in this way... " Oh my Divine Mother, i offer you pain and pleasure...i do not need them they are yours...and in return O My Mother, please grant this child of Yours, Pure Love of Thy Lotus Feet. " (and then He continued on down thru the list of opposites, until He came to Truth and untruth...which He would NOT offer, as He felt that Truth was the highest... This is a very good kind of prayer and will as one of the previous folks said, raise the sail such that the wind of Divine Grace will blow your boat across this vast ocean of delusions to that Other Shore, where the Mother lives...in Her Palace of Jewels, the Sri Cakra.. Any selfish, personal prayer MAY answered but you may wish it hadn't...and often it doesn't get answered because this is not the Mother's will.... so when we pray and feel unheard, perhaps we are not offering the kinds of prayers which CAN be heard...or SHOULD be heard....as long as we are not Saints, we should be praying for Divine Love of the Lotus Feet of the Beloved Deity, Whomever might be. my Amma also suggested that we should pray to the Divine asking: " Oh my Divine Mother, please Shower Your Grace upon this little child that he might live entirely according to Thy will alone! " this is the kind of prayer which the Mahatmas suggest... this is the kind of prayer which i would suggest also...and the kind of prayers which i offer to my Beloved Divine Mother! In the Divine Mother's Love, and in Her Service as ever, your own self, visvanathan Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!
Guest guest
My question arises before prayer and does not encompass what will be in the prayer The answer to the question lies in Saranagati according to me. This is in looking at the challange from the Jana yoga aspect. Remember all solutions differ according to the yoga path an aspirant takes. Though in the end all parameters achieved is the same, whatever be the way we describe it while we tred along. Once we reach it is the same spot.
