Guest guest
Some advice from list members please: I am planning to make a pilgrimage to Dakshineswar and the sites associated with Sri Ramakrishna. I hope to go at the end of this year, ideally over Christmas and the New Year holiday although not if that time is likely to be too busy. I would prefer to go in January if that is quieter. Can anybody who has been there recommend a good hotel in the area that I can stay in and use as a base, quietness rather than comfort being the most important attribute that I am seeking (although I am not an ascetic either...............). Thanks, Alan
Guest guest
Dear Alan There is a guest House in Belur Math where you can stay, in case accommodation is available. Yes. It is quite busy during that time of the year. There is no fee etc; but the Guest House is run on donations received from Devotees. I have found this much better than staying in a hotel in Cal. You can get all the contact addresses from the web site for Belur Math. If you are planning to be in calcutta early January, you may want to consider visiting Joyrambatti. Mother's birthday is on 5th Jan I think and it is a remarkable experience to be there during that time. But it is definitely not quiet. In fact the whole place is pulsating with joy and merriment. I also hope to be there during that time. Any particulars you need, please e-mail me at Sunil_Sudhakar. with warm regards Sunil Ramakrishna, afperry@a... wrote: > Some advice from list members please: I am planning to make a pilgrimage to > Dakshineswar and the sites associated with Sri Ramakrishna.
