Guest guest
Alan When I visited Dakshineswar, I stayed at a hotel on Park Street. It was expensive but convenient. Quietness is a hard thing to find in Kalkota. The Tourism office is just a stones throw from there and one could take a couch that takes to Dakshineswar. Dec/Jan both are ok. Do not consider hiring a car and drive by yourself. If you have not visited India before, be careful about the water and food as well. WIll be happy to help if you need any further info. IMPORTANT NOTICE From 1 JULY 2001, my new e-mail address will be as under: milindsathye The postal address is also changed and will be advised on request. Thank you. I hope to go at the end of this year, ideally over Christmas and the New Year holiday although not if that time is likely to be too busy. I would prefer to go in January if that is quieter. Can anybody who has been there recommend a good hotel in the area that I can stay in and use as a base, quietness rather than comfort being the most important attribute that I am seeking (although I am not an ascetic either...............). Thanks, Alan Sri Ramakrishnaye Namah Vivekananda Centre London http://www.vivekananda.co.uk
