Guest guest
I had similar questions in my mind. I searched for "Brahma Muhurat" in Google and 4 links pointed to reference to this aspect. One of the samples is given below: "Meditation is good if done in the early morning as the mind is free from all tensions earlier and to derive the best results of meditation. According to the scriptures it is said that the best time for doing dhyana is the "Brahma muhurat". It is because utter silence prevails in the atmosphere and has great influence on the radiation of the moon on the surface." (Link: http://www.mindbodyspirit.com.au/mag/venugopalan.htm) Scriptures contain recommended "best practices" and sometimes may prohibit some things based on wrong timing etc. Whatever time is suitable for you should be used for your spiritual practice if you cannot follow recommended practice by scriptures. I believe if one feels strong enough to sacrifice some sleep and practice spirituality early in the morning, it should be done as it is a good thing to do. Though I do not have enough experience in these matters, I do feel over a period of time, meditation in early morning itself can give body the needed rest which it gets in sleep. I mean if you are able to meditate without feeling sleepy one should be able to manage with less sleep. Mind is capable of controlling us by indicating that 'sleep' is very important for the body but within our heart we feel 'spiritual practice' is very important. The struggle between these two raises such questions. It is upto us to decide what is important and tell the mind to 'quit' and make heart to 'win' in this argument. Hope my opinions help. Is yes what is theouter time limit?2. If one is compelled to retire late in the night isit still desirable to sleep less and get up early inthe morning?3. Is there any authoritative evidence that getting upearly results in an automatically reduced sleeprequirement?4. Does the body learn over a period of time to managewith less sleep requirement if forced upon it or doesit have any effect on health in the long run?Thank youDevGet personalized email addresses from Mailhttp://personal.mail./Sri Ramakrishnaye NamahVivekananda Centre Londonhttp://www.vivekananda.co.uk
