Gita at a wedding?

Hi,

The Gita is a philosophical text explaining life and

death and to my knowledge does not contain any verses

that could be read at weddings, except perhaps (in

lighter vein) 'do your duty without worrying about the

fruits thereof'.

The Gita is normally recited on more solemn occasions

such as funerals, to explain the nature of atma and

its immortality.

In weddings, verses from the Ramayana (Bala kanda)

dealing with the wedding of Rama & Sita or from the

Bhagavatam dealing with the wedding of Krishna &

Rukmini could be recited.

Thanks & regards.

Sriram
