Guest guest
> Questions from a Hindu in the West > If the end point of the atman is to merge with (Brahman) Brahm then what is the beginning point of the atma (Atman)? I mean to ask you if the (Atamn) atma is a part of (Paramatman) paramatma and it has to merge with Him in the end then why did if get seperated from Him in the first place? Dear Tanuja, Because the nature and reality of Brahman is beyond mind and speech, no language can depict or describe Its True Nature nor can anyone write or discuss about it in words. Here Brahman is same as with God, Atman, Paramatman, Absolute Knowledge, Self, Bliss and etc. In essence there is no difference between Atman, Paramatman, or Brahman, or we can say they mean one and the same Reality i.e. All Pervading Existence, the only existence as Absolute Consciousness. The goal of all religions, including Hindu religion, is to realize this Truth about ourselves as the same Reality i.e. we are not body-mind complexes but are truly and fully none other than Atman/Brahman/Paramatman/Consciousness etc. All the talks on and about religion is to indirectly lead us to undertake certain spiritual disciplines/practices that will make this point clearer and one day to realize our true Divine Nature, to understand ourselves as we are. This is Hinduism. Advaita Vedanta in particular, that will suit you to answer your colleagues in every aspect of query and inquiry. c s shah http://www.neovedanta.org ----
