Guest guest
Hello, Celibacy is not a goal, but a means. Without a proper goal and the person being earnest about the goal, trying to be a celibate will be only disturbing the psyche. The void has to be filled by something creative. There was a time, during my college days, when I was very anxious about becoming a monk. There was a lot of opposition both from within and without. A monk with whom I was quite close scolded me for my anxiety saying that the goal of life was not to be a monk or a householder but to realize God. He asked me to be earnest towards God realization and let the Lord decide the rest. This put my confusion to rest for ever. Now I am married and doing all the duties of this life, and by the Grace of God, as earnest as ever towards the Lord. I guess there is no need for too much anxiety in this regard. As we proceed on the spiritual path, all unnecessary baggage will be dropped (or we will be foreced to drop) at the right time. Even good things are not good to happen before the right time. A fruit which comes before the right season for it does not taste good.
