Guest guest
Neli Speaking in the language of linear programming, the primal problem and its solution is realising the Advaita (non-duality) but Hindu's convert a primal into a dual for ease of solving ( as we do in all LP problems) we convert the formless into a form and use symbols to solve the problem. Both primal and dual give the same solution but dual is easier and preferred method used by Hindus!! What is the relationship between the symbol and belief in Hinduism? Hi, I am a training teacher for RE for secondary schools, at Brunel University. I have a 2500 word essay to explain the above question. I would appreciate it if you could provide me with some tips and helpful hints?! Guest guest
Neli Further to my earlier message, in addition there are also 'constraints' in our linear programming formulation which has objective to realise GOD with minimum opportunity cost. The constraints are the shad ripus (six enemies) !! So it should not be too hard for a teacher to realise why Hindu's worship and believe in symbols.!!! Guest guest
Dear Neli I suggest a book titled " The Art of God Symbolism " by Swami Chinmayananda which deals with the significance of the images of the various forms of God in Hinduism. This " non-linear " poses problems even with the very basic situations in Physics ...i.e. solving the " three body problem " If you have three bodies interacting gravitationally - the exact motion cannot be predicted ..... So a kind of linear approximation is tolerated. Same problem is seen in the theory of 'Chaos'. As the inital conditions cannot be ascertained with infinite accuracy -- the results can be dramatically unpredictable ..... : ) jay
