Guest guest
Unfortunately, I guess this is no longer true in India. Even in this great bastion of tolerance, intolerance has periodically reared it's ugly head. Why should India be different from the rest of the world? Still, the Ideal remains and shouldn't be compromised.... --- ananta <sarada wrote: > One thing I must tell you. Idolatry in India does > not mean anything > horrible. Guest guest
Idolatory is a word which more people dont understand ---as in praglatha's epic his father will ask him where is u r god show me!!!!! praglatha replies " he is every where.he is in u and he is in me.he is in this sand he is in this pilar ..he is omnipresent " As the rightly word goes the omnipresent God is in the statue so called idol or a sacred symbol representing God also has.So hindus when they step on the leg of a person they will touch and say sorry as in front of a god we touch and his feet with our hand and kiss our hand back.this is a action of respect ..simple it may sound Most of the actions let out by hindu society as a whole is embarking on the greatest truth of the excistence of GOD. I sincerely hope people dont see idolatory as sin rather than understand that whatever is GOD.This is the basic difference between christianity and hinduism which sparks violence ..Some Christian preachers name the statues of god (as per hindus) as idol worship. Then what they represent in church the cross and the jesus and mary statues are also idols is it not idol worship.. If u know the ultimate truth then u wont fight ..but sincerely hrting sentiments brew the violence...I hope some day christians do understand what is didol worship then it will be good for the whole race... Bible condemns idol worship since it does not like human or living beings sacrifice ..not praying to so called bad devils..what hindus have in temples are not devils they are pure representation of love and faith and protection Although some forms like kali had been taken a wrong representation..everthing is not bad WIth love Raj R D [jaguarxox] Wednesday, September 05, 2001 10:27 PM Ramakrishna Re: [ramakrishna] VML-9/4/01 Unfortunately, I guess this is no longer true in India.
