Swami Vivekananda has said - the destination for all living things

is the same..... realizing our unity with the divine.

Evolution is an unfolding process towards this goal.

The final twist is very interesting..... we recognise that the

infinite trying to express itself through the finite is not possible!

Vivekananda i think i read as saying .. " what gautama Budha is the 25 budha

on earth " ..it means that he had got that enlightenment and growth after so

many births ..I think it may answer ur question to certain extent

Ofcourse there's a spiritual evolution. But external

nature can't dictate terms to us as it did in physical

evolution. The psycho-social evolution of man from his

mammalian stage till he reaches his destination, i.e.,

Self-realization covers the whole spectrum of

spiritual life. The question as to why a man is more

spiritual than others has only one answer, it is, it

all depends on the sincerity and yearning of an

aspirant to realize the Truth. Evolution according to

Darwin, the post-Darwin evolution concepts and the

spiritual evolution according to Vedanta is dealt with

much clarity, preciseness and in a very simple but

effective language in some parts of the book, " The

Message of the Upanishads " by Srimat Swami

Ranganathanandaji Maharaj. Most Revered Maharaj has

synthesised these concepts wonderfully. Reading that

book not only clarifies our question on evolution but

throw more light on the question of Life itself.
