You might be interested in the views of Sir Aldus Huxley.

He says that after the advent of the human being, evolution

has taken a turn and has become more spiritual than physical.

You cannot make a person want something. The " want "

has to come from within. People pursue and get what they

To me it is all a process of evolution. At some point in our evolutonary

process we begin to seek out the spiritual. Be it in this life or in some

future life. And, I believe that as we become more evolved, we NATURALY

become more spiritual. Past karmas...? Our actions determine our progress

in the evolutionary process, in this way I suppose we could say due to past

karmas.
