Guest guest
Dear Bradley: I have been asking myself the same question, what the best way to deal with this atrocity. when You hear about military action, you wonder against who? This crime was not directly committed by a nation or a traditional army. who are you going to defeat? When would you know that war is over? Crime is committed by a wirped philosophy. Its in the mind of the person committing the crime. He wears no uniform. How are we going to look in the mind and soul of the perpetrators of this heinous act? Killing them will have no deterrent effect since these are suicidal people. Who is there leader? Even if we kill the leader another will take its place. We cannot destroy their weapon because it can be anything. We cannot stop them coming to our nation either because there is no ID. Look at what is happening with Israel and PLO. No one is winning. Terrorism continues. We need to find out the situations, causes that seeds these peoples mind for such violence. There is much fear of unknown, prejudice, intolerance, etc., and some people use these sentiments to turn these people into killers for their own agenda. I have a friend from Syria who told me that these are mostly the most poor, uneducated unwanted lots and are very dangerous as well as very unreasonable. I wonder instead of sending military with Guns, can we send people to understand these people so that we can eradicate this phenomenon from it's root rather than do some cosmetic surgery by doing some show of military action since people want it. Don't get me wrong. I am just as hurt and angry as any other. Anup
