Guest guest
Sept 20: Religion not the Crying Need of India Christians must always be ready for good criticism and I hardly think that you will mind if I make a little criticism. You Christians, who are so fond of sending out missionaries to save the soul of the heathen - why do you not try to save their bodies from starvation? In India, during the terrible famines, thousands died from hunger, yet you Christians did nothing. -- ______________________________ We continue Swamiji's lectures from the Parliment of Religions in Chicago. This lecture is: Today we begin: Religion not the Crying Need of India. This talk was delivered on Sept. 20, 1893. This is a part of a daily study of the lectures and writings of Swami Vivekananda. All lectures are sent out in sequenced form, as he spoke them. Please tell a friend about this Vivekananda Mailing (VML) list and study group. To or send a message to sarada.
