Thank you, your interpretation of the musical metaphor is helpful. I was trying

to understand exactly how the musical example related to the point being made.

But after reading your reply, I realized that metaphors or analogies are not

meant to match exactly point for point. Instead, one has to grasp the essence of

the image. I think my instinct was right in focusing on what you call " breaking

a sentence in the middle abruptly. " It is this feeling of ni that makes the

point he is putting forth.
