Guest guest
dear friends, Transalator preface --2 continue from previous ., Life means struggle. No one can make progress, either in material life, without struggle. Spiritual progress rarely moves in a straight line; it goes to the top of Mount Everest. He will cross one peak of the Himalayas, then he will come down to a valley, and then again he will climb another peak. Although he may seem to come down after each climb, he will be progressing upward overall. So it is with spiritual life. After joining the monastrey, Swami Turiyananda passed through a dry spell which he later described: " when I was and living in the Baranagore Math, once I was in a very despondent mood. I could not meditate. I was then pacing back and forth on the roof. Suddenly there was a rift in the cloud, and out came the full moon in all its majesty. All darkness was dispelled, and the whole landscape was flooded with light. It struck me. It flashed in my mind that I am the Light, the Spirit. My Light gives light to the whole world. Then all my melancholy disappeared. " Once an old monk, who was very close to Swami Turiyananda, told me, " whenever you feel a dry spell, depression, or stagnation in spiritual life, please read the letters of Swami Turiyananda; you will get aboost instantly. " His words are true. I transalate those letters which contain spiritual instructions, as well as his personal reminiscences. Moreover, I included forty-one letters which were originally written in english; most of them were published in the PRABUDDA BHARATHA.
