Greetings, I am doing a research paper on the six dimensions of Hinduism and I am stuck on the emotional aspect of Hinduism. Being Western I'm not sure I can relate to how one feels within this philosophy-Help!, please. Also, may I quote you? Please include all the pertinent information. Guest guest Posted October 28, 2001 Report Share Posted October 28, 2001 Namaste, Bharata Muni, in the classic treatse on Aesthetics classified the human emotions under 9 categories - nava rasas (nine rasas or moods): shR^i~Ngara (love), vira (heroism), biibhatsa (disgust), raudra (anger), haasya (mirth), bhaya~Nkaara (terror), karuNa (pity), adbhuta (wonder), shaanta(tranquility) and vaatsalya (parental fondling). Some have added atenth one under 'bhakti' [devotion].
