Guest guest
As a corollary to Nitin Nanda's 11/05/01 announcement of a web edition of a " new and different version of Sri Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrita, " I would like to bring to the attention of members of the RK list a word by word complete translation, in concise and clear contemporary Amerian English useage, that was published in CD rom form last February. Titled, " Conversations With Sri Ramakrishna, " the translation in five volumes, approximately 1,400 pages, is by the late Sachindra Kumar Majumdar, a former swami of the RK Order who independently taught Hatha/Raja Yoga and Vedanta Philosophy based on Vivekananda's writings in this country from the 1950s on. I'm sure most of you know that Kathamrita, edited and rearranged, was the source material for Swami Nikhilananda's well known translation, " The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna. " I transcribed Mr. Majumdar's translation from his longhand and would be pleased to answer questions about it. The CD is available from Vedanta Press or SRV Retreat Center/Interfaith Peace Temple: www.universaltemple.org. Ralph Brockway
