Samkhya

In Vivekananda's The Yogas and Other Works, there is a section of passages

that

he translates called " Samkhya Philosophy " (it's in the appendix to

Raja-Yoga).

Does anyone know what text he is translating from (the Sanskrit name)? I

haven't heard of any book

titled " Samkhya Philosophy. " It appears to be a text, because the verses are

numbered (e.g., " Book III, 29 " ).

One of the earliest books on Samkhya is:

 

SAMKHYA KARIKA OF ISVARA KRSNA WITH THE TATTVA KAUMUDI OF SRI VACASPATI

MISRA

 

I do not have this book but it is possible that the translations are

from this book. Other list members may know more about this.
