Fearlessness was one of most often stressed subjects

of Swami Vivekananada. However fear is a reality on

the spiritual path.It is a reality that besides love,

it is fear which is the next motivating factor for a

aspirant to get on to spiritual path.

In fact fear is often the first stage which with

maturity turns into love for many if not most

aspirants. Also is there any one among us who at some

point or the other decided not to do a wrong act out

of fear of the consequences?

Fear of death, fear of punishment from God is not just

a Christian concept. Hinduism beleives God to be the

dispenser of the fruits of action and the operator of

the law of Karma.

So in a way fear is not a negative quality on the

spiritual path but maybe a necessary step. Am I right

or does someone have a differing view?

Regards

Dev
