Guest guest
Would it not be right to say that Fear arises out of desire...? The presence of Fear is evidence of desire. The presence of fear is evidence of that desire, from whence it arises, of not being fulfilled... Fear can also be positive as in goading us onto spiritual progress...but even that fear arises out of the consequences of pain that may ensue if the spiritual path is not adhered to... Fear of death arises from the desire to live...fear of punishment arises from the desire to be free from pain... that is why Swamiji said... " Renunciation alone is fearlessness " Renounce desire and fearlessness will ensue Desire is the root cause of ALL misery... >Fearlessness was one of most often stressed subjects >of Swami Vivekananada.
