Guest guest
Dear Sunder That was a master piece of a reply to stress the authoritativeness of the Bhagvad Gita. The central point is that it is recognised as part of the " Prasthana Traya " and no spiritual stalwart of India has omitted the importance of Gita and indeed tell us one philosopher saint who has not written tireless commentaries on interpreting its bottomless and sublime meanings. Even the suggestion that Bhagvad Gita is not authoritative is sacrilegeous. Somebody rightly said that you could keep reading Gita (was it Tilak...probably Milind Sathye could confirm)for your entire life and still keep discovering new truths and sublime messages. May the Bhagvad Gita reach every home and heart in this world. Guest guest
Karthi Two books on Gita particularly appealed to me. Gita Pravachane by Vinoba [extremely simple and lucid exposition I have ever come across. It is available in English (titled Talks on Gita) from Oxford University Press or you could write to Pavanar Ashram, Pavanar, Dist. Wardha Maharashtra)] and Gita Rahasya by Bal Gangadhar Tilak (available in English. Try Kesari Maratha Prakashan, Narayan Peth, Pune, Maharashtra). Tilak's books is a highly intellectual dispostion on Gita. The coincidence is both these books were written when these stalwarts were in Jail!! Vinoba in Dhule Jail and Tilak at Madaley (former Burma).
