Dear List

Sometimes humour shows up in an unusual situations.

We run many classes on Weekends. My favourite is the

kindergarten class for about 4 to 8 year olds.

This morning I was relating the story of Ganesh and

Kartikeya racing .......

One little chap kept putting up his hand.

This happens from time to time in the middle of

a story when a youngster has heard the story

and wants to give away the ending...

I kept telling him to 'hold on' ........

He repeatedly kept putting up his hand....

and I kept asking him to hang on.......

finally I gave up and asked what do you

want to say?.... He said " I want to go to the loo

I can't hold-on no more. "

On a more serious note the number of classes we run on

weekends continues to expand. We now have 15

classes teaching Hinduism in the UK. We have been able

to cut right across the sectarian divide. The activities

we carry out at mainstream schools is even more

significant. Here we get an opportunity to present

Hindu teachings to the non-Hindu youngsters of all ages.

This is received with tremendous enthusiasm.
