Guest guest
There are certain yogic excersises which makes the dormant parts of our brain active, and a person may gain certain powers like ESP, mind reading, also one may be able o cure sickness eic, What I would like to know is such types of abilities , do they retard our quest for sprituality and search for God realization. Ramakrishna had said that Hatha yoga etc, should be be avoided. Guest guest
The desire for God relisation and desire for acquiring powers and abilities which only feed the ego do not go together. The one who seeks God is committed to effacing his individual will to the command of universal will or God 's will. Every desire is an obstacle in the final journey and desires for special yogic powers are not obstacles but mountains in the way. Yogic practices done with the aim of controlling the mind to facilitate Goid realisation is true yoga. This is my humble view.
