pranams yogeshanandaji and list members,

Iam a new member to this group and let me express my

ideas on this topic.

1.sex and self realization are two opposite poles,in

the sense that one who enjoys sex can never hope to

become a knower of self for two simple reasons,

A.to rise to higher levels of being one needs high

stores of energy and sex act drains this energy and

makes one hollow.

B.sex makes one's body identification more

stronger, hence one cannot rise beyond his body.

C.In yogic language,a sex-enjoyer cannot rise beyond

the swadhistana chakra while his goal is in reality

permanent station above the head in the 1000 petalled

lotus.sex automatically chains him/her at second

chakra without allowing him to go beyond.

D.HOWEVER,this DOES not mean one should hate and

suppress sex energy which is nothing but the divine

energy manifesting at the lower levels for creation.

& gt; & lt; & lt; & nbsp; If individuals seem to attain a

realization in spite of<BR>

& gt; living a non-continent life, I would be inclined

to say that those<BR>

& gt; realizations may be & quot;glimpses & quot;, & nbsp;

or temporary states of consciousness, not<BR>

& gt; permanent establishment in Self-Realization.

& gt; & gt;<BR>

& gt;<BR>

& gt;So that I might better understand what you are

saying here, could you please<BR>

& gt;clarify, or define, according to your belief, what

you mean by & quot;...permanent<BR>

& gt;establishment in Self-Realization... & quot;<BR>

& gt;<BR>

& gt;If we read the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna and of

Swami Vivekananda (RAJA<BR>

& gt;YOGA etc.) we find them saying that once the mind

has settled itself in<BR>

& gt;the sahasrara, in the sixth or seventh planes,

there is really no<BR>

& gt;possibility of its descending again below the

heart cakra. Such persons<BR>

& gt;would have what need, what desire, for a physical

& quot;union & quot;? On esthetic<BR>

& gt;grounds alone, what to speak of other reasons, the

fully realized person<BR>

& gt;eschews that. He/she lives life on another plane;

has no need of the<BR>

& gt;short-circuiting experience of sex, when he/she

feels him/herself at one<BR>

& gt;with all beings much of the time.<BR>

Hope it helps, Yogeshananda<BR>
