One of my colleagues who knows a lot about Sir George said he was

a great believer in the Vedantic ideals. Apparently when he was

about to pass away he said something like: Aim of life is to find God..

I remember hearing him quote Vivekananda on several occassions in interviews.

I also believe he did the forward in one of the Gita's published by the Hare

Krishna's which is where I believe he first started his inquiry into Eastern

thought...that is after the Maharisha Mehesh Yogi (sp) way back when he was

still a Beatle. And, of course he and Ravi Shankar were very close.

Namaste

Ravi Shankar gave him two books to introduce Indian spirituality and one was

Autobiography of Yogi by Paramahamsa Yogananda and the other was Raja Yoga

by Swami Vivekananda.
