Guest guest
Sometimes we get a message that is very touching. Let me share the following message with the list. - " Alfred Cid " <alfredcid <Ramakrishna-owner > Wednesday, December 05, 2001 03:31 Dear friend: I want to thank you for accept my request. I am a spanish man, 43 years old, living in Andorra (Pirineos Mountains, between Spain and France). I work at night by the moment; so, i'll read and write about this list in highs hours in the night because i have a little time for this. I love so much spirituality and culture of India! I know this since I was a teenager. Even I was there (Bihar) twenty years ago for a short period of time as a participant in an introductory course of yoga. I practice prayer, meditation and a little hatha yoga. But i have not much experience in practice bhakti yoga. The first volume of The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna (Spanish edition, my English is very basic yet) came to my hands five days ago. This book is a blessing for me. You know, one can discover that there is a connection between God and his name while one is singing it with devotion. The name of God, sung with longing and devotion, purifies the mind and the heart. To sing the name of God awakes and intensify the spritual dimension of the person, because it produces a spiritual experience of coming closer to God. That is the reason because I wrote you: to know more about it and to know persons in this way. Thank you a lot for all. Alfred Cid ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~response~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear Alfred Very few have heard the name " Sri Ramakrishna " . Take it as a blessing that you have come across his teachings. He was very much for the idea that:- 'God and his name are one and the same'. He promoted all pathways to God - including the path of devotion. This is the sweetest way to God. The tool we use (love) to find God is also God, hence the journey becomes sweet. I am sending copy of this email to our list members in case any of them wish to respond to you. regards jay Vivekananda Centre London http://www.vivekananda.co.uk
