At this point, the theory goes, atoms cease to move, vibrate or radiate energy. Would not atoms in this state transcend the relative and achieve to the " one and only " on which they were based? When we split the atom, we find incredible energy. Therefore, when we " freeze " the atom, might we not find incredible " truth? " ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~response~~~~~~~~~~~ I would not agree that you can ever get an atom to freeze. The absolute zero that comes thro' in Physics is purely a statistical measure ..... it says the relative motion of a group of atoms can be made smaller and smaller..... This zero absolute is purely a statistical measure.... Freezing an individual atom is just not on. We have to get into quantum mechanics to see the individual atom. Here we have no such idea of anything being or sitting still. Nothing can stay still at quantum mechanical level. The closer you try and take a pinch of reality (including the elementary particle) the greater the energy you generate........ The words of Swami Vivekananda remind us... The more you can concentrate on a single point the greater the power you generate. He was talking of the power generated by concentrating the mind but at the quantum level mind and matter become indistinguishable : ) jay

Your points are valid. The ultimate reality cannot be reduced to sense phenomenon. All spiritual quests pose this problem. How can we think of absolute without some kind of relative tools? Swami Vivekananda says something like: The absolute cannot be thought of, explained, or grasped without use of some kind of pegs to hang our ideas on. regards jay
