Guest guest
Greetings: 1) The " misogynist " question leads me to ask, isn't another unique characteristic of Sri Ramakrishna's life His worship of God in the form of the Divine Mother (versus a male Godhead)? 2) Did Swamiji, or another RKO member ever create a comprehensive list of all known Avatars? 3) Do Avatar's have previous lives? 4) Why did Sri Ramakrishna write a person's mantra on their outstretched tongue? Is this practice followed today? God Bless, Brad
Guest guest
Hi, there is a verse in Bhagavata which says " Avataara hi asankheya " meaning the avataras are innumerable. As Krishna assures in the Bhagavad Gita " sambhavami yuge yuge " , there cannot be a count of avataras. If i am right, Bhagavata mentions several (24 ?) avataras of lord vishnu. 10 are the major ones. Do you know as per the Bhagavad Gita one of the avataras of Vishnu is " Vrushabhadeva " who is the founder of Jainism, also known as Adi Tirthankara ? regards, Vikas
