Guest guest
Dear All. I do not think all you guys have been fair. I have been in the UK for 3 years in 60s and have celeberated X mas atleast thrice during the later years in London and also in the US. I enjoyed the beautiful children in their Sunday best singing away gustily without disturbing the inmates of the houises and without expecting any thing in return. They just praised the Lord. Also the churches are full on the day. Both morning and evenings. Yes we do meet and exchange pleasataries on that day. The families get together and have a good time. Most only consume just a few drinks and they are merry. After all it is a merry occassion. I am a Hindu and recite Sahasranamam every day. Please do not judge the largest group of people following Christianity by looking at few crowded PUBS!!!. Guest guest
> Not being rude, in > christmas even, hardly any one speaks of Christ or his > messages. It is true. I remember some years ago when a Parsi lady I know from Pune came to live in the States for a year and was working as a nanny for a family in Boston. At the end of the year she told us that these people were very nice, but the entire time she lived in their household, she was surprised to observe that they never mentioned God even once. We hear that at a certain stage, when the aspirant hears people speak of worldly things, he or she runs away, and only wants to speak of God. Where will we run away to in this indifferent world? _______ Get your free @ address at
Guest guest
Dear All I agree with Sheshadri. There are as many people I would guess as a percentage of population everywhere in the world who would celebrate a festival in its right spirit as many as there would be people who would get drunk and make merry. How many people back in India celebrate diwali for what it is for except bursting crackers and eating sweets? How many of the get drunk on Holi with Bhang? The phenomenon of indulgence to celebrate a festival is prevalent everywhere. This is Kali yuga, where the predominant guna is Tamas. It would take steely resolve to move godwards in this age. Let us make that resolve and move on. Let events outside remind us of the need to go inwards. Love to all.
