Extract from Swami Ashokananda's Why practise concentration?

 

If you ever come across a person who has an instinctive

faith in God - there are such people here and there - and if

you observe their life, you will notice that they are not much

tied to the body or to things of the senses, they are

comparatively free of those things; that state is natural to

them.

 

Commentary: -

Barometer to detect a spiritual person!

There is very good analogy which explains who can identify the spiritual or

realised soul.

" Imagine 20 people are sleeping. Now a person wakes up. He knows that he is

awake and he also knows that the rest 19 are sleeping. Now one more person

wakes up. The second person also knows that he is awake at the same time he

knows that there is another who is awake. The persons who are awake know each

other that they are not sleeping and they are fully awake and they don't have

talk about that. Where as the other 18 people are still sleeping and many a

times they don't know in what state they are. "
