Unfortunately it seems that evolution has its own time agenda, and you cannot make someone understand until it is their time to understand. " To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose... " " Spirituality cannot be forced " . Nor can evolution, as the two go hand in hand. <<Like many, it is sickening and frustrating to just sit back and watch/read the news each day, with new stories and pictures filled with intolerance, hatred and violence.>> Yes it is, but such news can have a positive effect if it makes just one person who sees it feel deeply about what they see and begin to search for ways to make things better. Unfortunately it seems that such is the way that compassion is taught. No one has to just " sit back and watch/read " . There are alot of things one can do. There are many groups and foundations that working against hate and violence. And, once again, your examples of tolerance, compassion, love, can benefit many. You may never know that you touched someone or that something you did left a lasting impression on someone just when they needed it most. <<Regarding the role of our genes and bodies in creating differentiation and separation - I would say Mahamaya uses them quite effectively: " My white skin is superior to your black skin " , " My male gender is superior to your female gender, " >> Such statements as " My white skin is superior to your black skin " really has nothing to do with genes. It has to do with that " programming " I mentioned. People who think in such ways have been TAUGHT to think that way. Yes our genes determine whether we are black, white, brown, yellow, or red, but they have nothing to do with how we THINK about skin color.
