Guest guest
Dera Raga (or is it Rajah?); I am not a learned or realised person so the answer is from what I feel, and not from research. I think cruelty is what is in your heart. The purpose of the action. Who is cruel? The lioness who kills the Gazel to feed its cubs and her family or the man who kills it for a trophy? Bhagwan Ramchandra, Krishna, Budha, even Shri Ramkrishna were not vegetarian. By the way Hitler was a staunch vegetarian and was very much against cruelty to animals. During dinner parties he will narrate the details of how the animals are killed before they got on the plate in such a graphic way that most of the guests will lose their appetite for the meat on their plate. Shri Ramkrishna and Swamiji both said that if you are focused on God it does not matter what you eat, because its the Same manifesting in meat or vegetable. Remember the story where a sanyasi was asked to learn from a butcher?
